【Sihong Rice is the finest under heaven】
—Rice Culture Center
As a national AAA tourist attraction, the culture center is located in Shiji Township of Sihong County. Designed and built by the People’s Government of Sihong County and Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences jointly, it just looks like a rice bucket and implies “the granary under heaven”. As the largest rice culture exhibition hall with the largest single area in Jiangsu Province at present, the exhibition hall mainly introduces the origin of rice and famous rice brands in Sihong, and displays the carbonized rice unearthed at the Shunshanji Ruins, Meihua Town of Sihong County. As tested by Peking University with Carbon-14, the carbonized rice can be traced back to 8,500 years ago.
